Dry feet, not wet

Unlike a pumice stone, a rotating file works best on dry skin. Do it before a shower, not after, and moisturise once you are done.

Do not overdo it

Callus is protective. Take off the rough excess, stop when the skin is smooth, and never file until it is tender.
